Paintings send 5 Vietnamese orphans go to Summer Camp
May 14, 2009GVI recently hosted 2 Vietnamese artists, Nguyen Minh Son and Lam Duc Manh, in Keller, TX, as part of its Artist Exchange Program. This program bridges cultures and deepens understanding between the US and Vietnam and is a great example of GVI's philosophy of people-to-people diplomacy.
The artists showed their paintings at NorthWood Church in Keller, TX, and at Art in the Square in Southlake, TX. The artists were inspired by GVI-NorthWood's Vietnam projects and donated a portion of their painting sales to helping children at Birla Orphanage in Hanoi. Their donation sponsored five children to attend summer camp.
The artists also spoke to students at Trinity Meadows Intermediate school and Park Glen Elementary. They encouraged students to work hard and pursue their dreams.
